Aims and scope
International Journal of Odonatology (IJO) is aimed at providing a publication outlet for the growing number of students of Odonata. It will address subjects such as the ecology, ethology, physiology, genetics, taxonomy, phylogeny and geographic distribution of species. Reviews will be by invitation, but authors who plan to write a review on a subject of interest to the journal are encouraged to contact the editor.
Peer review statement
All manuscript submissions are subject to initial appraisal by the Editors, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is single blind and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts.
Copyright and open access
As of 2021, all past and future articles published in IJO are provided open access by the Worldwide Dragonfly Association. Volumes 1 through 23 are available on this website, and volume 24 and forward are available from Wachholtz.

From 2021, the International Journal of Odonatology is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.
This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
Publishing history
IJO is currently published by Wachholtz. It was first published by Backhuys Publishers until 2004 (Volume 7, Issue 1), self-published by the WDA until 2010 (Volume 13, Issue 2), then by Taylor and Francis until 2020 (Volume 23, Issue 4).
