Philip S Corbet Grant for conservation & research

Overview

The Philip S Corbet Grant (PSCG) is named in memory of the late world authority on dragonfly ecology, and is meant to stimulate research on and conservation of dragonflies and damselflies. It is offered biannually by the WDA.

PSCGs may be awarded for smaller projects for which no other funding is possible, although co-funding from other appropriate sources is possible. Straightforward faunal surveys in well-studied areas will not be considered. Neither will funding for participation in meetings and symposia.

Specifically, PSCG funds are to be used for equipment, supplies and travel expenses within the scope of the project. Funds should not be used to pay wages.

Eligibility

You must be a member of WDA to apply for this grant. Grantees commit to publish results from the project in a WDA publication (Agrion or International Journal of Odonatology).

Application deadline

Applications for the PSCG should be received by May 1 or November 1 each year. The WDA board will make funding decisions following each application deadline and applicants will be notified by email no later than 3 months after each deadline.

Amount

PSCGs are made in the amount of XXX to XXX GBP. WDA aims to offer around 2-3 grants biannually.

How to apply

To apply, please fill out the application linked below (you must be signed in as a member to access this link). Return your completed application to grants@worlddragonfly.org and include “Philip S Corbet Grant” in the subject line of your email.
